My word of the year and I’d love to know yours.

Happy 2023!


Every year, I pick a word or two to be my theme for the year. Have you picked yours yet?


Here are my words for the past few years:

2020: “Growth”

2021: “Ease”

2022: “Visibility”

This year, my word is “Connection”


Here are some ways I’m stepping into more Connection


  1. Reach out. I’m making sure to open up space on my calendar for connection calls, networking events and spending time with new people as well as reconnecting with all colleagues and friends. As an introvert this can be hard some times because I just want to retreat and stay in my safe zone but now there’s extra time in my calendar to connect with others in my industry.

  2. Using technology as a resource instead of a burden. You know I’ve had this love/hate relationship with social media, that’s why I was off it for 4 years and I loved it so much while I was off. There's' only so many people you can reach locally plus half of my family, colleagues, clients and friends are in different parts of the world.

  3. Launching my podcast: The Courage To Be. This is coming soon, just in 2 weeks you’ll have the opportunity to listen to interviews with amazing and inspiring individuals. I’ve realized that having my podcast is a wonderful way to connect with people all over the globe.

  4. Creating gatherings. I’d always be on the look out for the next best networking event until I decided to host my own. Every event i’ve done in person or online ends up bringing amazing women together.
