In a world where business often emphasizes profits over people, there’s something revolutionary about women gathering in a room with the intention to rise—and to lift others while doing so.
At my recent three-day Increase Your Income and Impact event in Santa Fe, I witnessed the power of this firsthand. Twenty-three women came together to sharpen their business acumen, expand their money mindset, and deepen their impact. What unfolded was more than strategy and success—it was a demonstration of community, synchronicity, and radical generosity.
Too often, giving is portrayed as something you do after you hit your goals. After your business scales. After your life is settled. But what if giving isn’t the final chapter of success, but part of the formula that creates it?
During this event, I invited the women in the room to join me in supporting Casa Milagro, a nonprofit in Santa Fe that provides housing and support to people experiencing homelessness. At first, it was just an invitation. But over three days, as we shared stories, dreams, and intentions, something remarkable happened—we raised nearly six thousand dollars!!! Not because anyone felt pressured. Not because anyone had extra. But because when women come together with purpose, we move mountains.
One of the most unforgettable moments came on day one. After Anji, the executive Director spoke about Casa Milagro, a participant came up to me and said, “Twenty-five years ago, I escaped an abusive marriage. I ended up in a shelter. And then Casa Milagro took me in.”
I asked if she’d be willing to share her story with the group. She agreed.
When she spoke to the room, there was this wave of stillness. It wasn’t just about donations anymore. This was healing. This was full-circle. Her story reminded us that generosity isn’t a luxury—it’s a legacy.
Shortly after, another participant raised her hand and said, “I, too, was unhoused after a health issue and not being able to turn to family or friend, I lived in a tent for fifteen months. There weren’t any services for someone like me—no kids, no addiction—just a woman trying to survive.”
She had never shared that before. But in that room, something opened.
Here’s the part that gave me goosebumps: both of these women donated over five hundred dollars each to Casa Milagro. That’s what impact looks like—not just giving when it’s convenient, but giving from a place of deep purpose and transformation.
Originally, I had a different nonprofit in mind. But when I called the contact I knew, she told me she had moved on—to Casa Milagro. Something told me to follow that lead. And wow, I’m so glad I did.
The synchronicities were wild. The very nonprofit I hadn’t planned to partner with turned out to be exactly the one these women needed to connect with. Sometimes, intuition really is the best strategist in the room.
What touched me even more was having my eleven-year-old daughter witness it all. She saw women cry, give, laugh, and support one another. She saw that business isn’t just about making money—it’s about meaning.
There were a few powerful takeaways from those three days:
First, giving doesn’t have to break your business. It can actually build it. When generosity is baked into your business model in a sustainable way, it becomes a source of energy and inspiration.
Second, your story matters. The more we share, the more we unlock in each other. Your truth can be someone else’s lifeline.
Third, trust your intuition. Following that inner nudge led to more than just a good cause—it created a powerful container for healing and connection.
Fourth, we rise faster together. The old model of success was about competition. The new model is collaboration. When we lift each other, we all go higher.
And finally, our kids are watching. Whether they’re our children, our clients, or our communities, they’re observing how we lead. Let’s show them that success and generosity can go hand in hand.
By the end of the event, it wasn’t just about the money raised. It was about the shift in all of us. It turns out, Increase Your Income and Impact wasn’t just a title—it was our mission in action.
So if you’ve ever wondered how to give back without burning out, start by asking yourself what matters most to you.
Who do you want to uplift?
What legacy do you want to leave?
You don’t have to wait until you “have more.” You can start right where you are.
Because when women gather with courage, compassion, and clarity—we don’t just change lives.
We change the world!
